Summer is fading fast ........

Sorry, I've been negligent in my blog monitoring duties. We just finished the monthly Board meeting and here are some of the highlights:

• Be sure to turn in your pool tags before the pool closes on 9/1.
• Membership renewal will be changed so all members renew at the same time. Currently renewals are spread out over the year. Membership period will change to Jan-Dec. Families who joined on or after June 15, 2008 will receive a discount rate for 2009.
• The Board will host another block party in mid-September. Check the MEMO for details.
• The next Board meeting will also be the general community meeting. It will be held at Welch Elementary School on September 25. Springfield Township officials will be present at that meeting and we will be asking the Police Department to send an officer to discuss crime prevention in our community.
• We are kicking around the idea of a fall activity for the entire community, likely in October. Perhaps a Halloween theme, pumpkin carving and a chili cook-off with prizes and perhaps a celebrity judge. What are your thoughts?
  
• Unfortunately we've waited too long on the landscape contest but it is definitely a go for next year. Look for detail in March, 2009.
• Please let us know - via this blog - of any properties that need attention from the township zoning/property maintenance office. We will see that your referral gets to the right people. Remember you can post anonymously here.

The response to this communications medium has not been bad considering there was very little publicity. Spread the word to your friends and neighbors in PRF. The Board wants to hear your ideas and constructive criticism. For those who posted with specific suggestions, I will be getting in touch with you as soon as possible.
